I responded that this could not be so as nobody I knew actually worshipped satan and nobody I knew viewed Halloween as a satanic or demonic celebration. Perhaps the origin was there at one point – but I doubt more than 1% of the population believes that today. This friend told me I was lying to myself if I felt that I could do those things and not honor satan and I responded that this didn’t give much credit to me as a person – I know what I honor and I think I have some sense of my neighbor’s intentions around a day like this. To your point – I would challenge a person who tells you not to hand out candy and ask them if they put up a Christmas tree. If so – they are not honoring God. Their Christmas should include none of the decorations or “pageantry” that sprang from pagan holidays or non-biblical teaching becasue they are promoting the very reasons that Christmas and Christ have become separated – and honoring pagan traditions to boot. If you cannot trick-or-treat, then you cannot, in good conscience, decorate a Christmas tree. I hear the response now – the Christmas tree is part of Christmas. Says who? The same people that say Halloween is not demonic. Either they are right or they are wrong. Tough to see it both ways. I hand out candy, dress up the kids and decorate a Christmas tree.

My opinion is that God tells us in His Word NOT to do as the world does, and im going to choose to follow my Most High God who created the world and us .Im personally choosing to be obedient to God and not man. Yes you can do whatever you like but i choose not to partake of a day that gives credence to things that go against my God. supposed origin, Celts dressed up in costumes followed their tradition to ward off the dead from coming to harass them and ruin their crops.Thank you for allowiing me to comment. I also cant believe our church is promoting this. I still love AOG n everyone in it.
