I want you to know that the greatest revelation of the Bible is NOT a cleverly stated doctrine. It’s NOT a memory verse or an impressive theological truth. It’s NOT Bible trivia and it’s NOT end-time prophecy. It’s NOT a great tweet and it certainly is NOT three points for this Sunday’s sermon.
When you study the Scriptures … I mean really study the Scriptures; when you move past your self-assigned reading for the day and forget about your memory verse; when you stop trying to impress people with your knowledge and look deeply into the holy writ … you are going to see Him.
That’s right … you’ll see Him.
The greatest revelation of the Bible isn’t a thing … it’s a Person.
Looking deeply into the Scriptures reveals the face of God.
I challenge you to search the Bible with an open heart and a love for the truth. I challenge you to pray and ask God to show Himself to you. I challenge you to stop seeking knowledge … and to start seeking the Source of all knowledge.
If you seek Him, you will find Him. You’ll discover that He’s been there all along.
He will reveal Himself to you through His word; and in that moment your heart will leap and your spirit will say, “Oh! There you are Jesus!”
